The “Murder Case Game” is a type of game in which participants find themselves in detectives’ shoes working on real-life unsolved murder cases. This game combines the elements of mission, packed with a rich plot and nontrivial tasks that even cause goose pimples while opening a piece of gear.
Business Problem
As more and more people are nowadays interested in playing puzzle and mystery games, developers tried to design a game that would be as captivating as possible for those, who like to solve murders. The problem was to create an unsolved murder case game with elements of plot and narrative, non-linear puzzles, and interactivity, for a specific target audience that is interested in mystery-solving games.
Furthermore, the navigability of the website was an important factor in guaranteeing an engaging and enjoyable experience for all Android users. The game had to stand out from similar games and provide an engaging and unique game play for users to enjoy the game.
The Big Idea
The concept was to design a game that would be a murder mystery in which the participants are to become detectives and solve different real-life unsolved murders. The major goals were to create an attractive interface and narrative and exciting features that would make the audience interested and captivated. Each of the cases was different, and the players could try different scenarios, find something that was not available to others, and make the decision that changed the story.
Brief into the App
The game called “Murder Case Game” entails the game’s participants becoming detectives who are charged with the responsibility of solving cold and unsolved murders. Structurally located in a set of rather interesting contexts, the participants have to collect evidence, question suspects, and conclude. Some of the features that are worked out in the game include working out and solving numerous puzzles, forensic analyzing abilities, and investigation methods, which make playing the game quite an interesting and engaging experience. Players can be entertained for hours by the detailed graphics, different plot cases, and opportunities for different storylines. They become more complex in their course and reveal real plots, more profound tiers as well as ‘a twist in the tale.’
Our Process
Designing the Murder Case Game involved proper planning to make it an interesting and involving game. This means that our process was to look at every aspect of gameplay, story, and technical performance. Here's how we approached it:
- Understanding the Target Audience: To define what players want from murder mystery games, we analyzed the features of the games they prefer, including the level of plot, game mechanics, and visuals.
- Game Design and Mechanics: We designed easy-to-use game mechanics that enabled players to investigate crime scenes, analyze clues, and interrogate suspects. Particular emphasis was placed on the distribution of the levels of difficulty to prevent the child from getting frustrated.
- Visual and Audio Elements: The graphics of the game are realistic, and the soundtracks are intense, which enhances the tension and the plot of the game.
- Android Optimization: A lot of time was spent making sure the game runs well on as many Android devices as possible so that all the users will have the same experience.
- Player Engagement Features: To keep the players interested and active there was an update system, an achievement system, and a hint system.
Challenges
The development of the murder case game was not without its problems but it was an exciting experience nonetheless. One of the main challenges faced was trying to incorporate the plot into the game and choosing what kind of plot would be so that it would be interesting for the players and complex enough so that it would be challenging. It was important to create puzzles that were difficult but not impossible, or at least not infuriating to the player.
Also, to provide the best performance on a great number of Android devices, optimization and vigorous testing were needed. Another challenge was how to incorporate different game mechanics, such as clues, suspects, and crime scenes. A challenge therefore was to properly balance all these elements while creating a fully engaging environment that would not inundate the player.
